Sissonville , Kanawha County , West Virginia
A firefighter battled a blaze at his home in Kanawha County on Wednesday afternoon until help arrived, but the blaze severely damaged the residence.
Patrick Coles, who is a full-time firefighter in Charleston and volunteers at the Sissonville department, had been at a neighbor's and discovered the blaze when he returned to his residence on Northfield Road in the Edens Fork area. He ran down the hill to the Sissonville Volunteer Fire Department, drove a firetruck back to his home and fought the fire until other firefighters got there.
Coles also works for Metro 911, and his wife is a paramedic.
No injuries were reported in the 12:30 p.m. fire. Firefighters from Sissonville and Charleston responded. Malden was on standby.
Multiple fire units were at the scene Wednesday of a residential structure fire in the Sissonville area, Metro 911 said.
The blaze broke out about 12:30 p.m. in the Edens Fork, North Field Road area, an emergency dispatcher said.
No injuries had been reported.
Fire units from Sissonville, Charleston and Malden responded to the call.
