A man pleaded guilty Monday afternoon in Kanawha Circuit Court in connection to an attack that occurred at the Transit Mall in Charleston.
Dana Lafond pleaded guilty to unlawful wounding. He will be sentenced in December.
Lafond was accused of striking Brandon Cotley in the head with a brick during the attack in March. Jury selection had started in Lafond's trial in circuit court, but he pleaded guilty in the case.
Cotley, the victim in the case, appeared in court for the case and said the event had a huge impact on him.
“It changed my outlook with life and made me a different person,” Cotley told Eyewitness News.
The man who was brutally attacked and robbed at the Transit Mall in Charleston appeared in court for the beginning of the trial of one of the men charged in the attack.

The attack happened when the 21-year-old was waiting on a bus to get home from work. Cotley suffered life threatening injuries. Coltey said he doesn't remember much from that night.

Brandon Douglass previously pleaded guilty to his role in the attack. Police said the men knew each other and that there was some type of fighter prior to the beating.
