South Charleston , Kanawha County , West Virginia

People all over the area woke up Tuesday morning under a blanket of snow, and some said they were excited to get their first dose of winter-like weather.

South Charleston saw about an inch of snow.

"I love it," said Amy Greear, a South Charleston resident. "It's beautiful. I love how the trees look and it was nice to wake up in the morning to all of the beautiful snow."

Some cars were covered in snow, and flowers fell over by the snow's weight.

Lorrie Reustle had to make a special trip to the store with her two boys because of the snow.

"I'm still like a kid like my boys," she said. "I wake up and I get just as excited. That's why we're here out shopping, getting some boots. Get back home and let them play."

"I love it," said David Bays, a Kanawha City resident. "I've already hit a few people with a snowball."

Bays said he works overnight and it was 57 degrees outside when he got to work Monday night. On Tuesday, morning, however, it was much colder and the scene much whiter. Bays just moved back to West Virginia and all of it's beauty.

"I just came out of Florida, and I missed the seasons," he said. "I'm sure I'll get tired of it pretty quick, but right now it's fun."

The first snowfall is putting smiles on people's faces and beauty in the eyes of anyone looking outside.

Reustle described it as "absolutely beautiful."

"I love when it's like this, when it's heavy on the trees and you can still drive on the roads," she said. "It's my favorite."
