Many Eateries To Serve Veterans, Active Duty Military For Free In Honor Of Veterans Day

A number of eateries will serve veterans and active duty military for free on Monday.

TGI Friday's in Southridge and Cross Lanes will offer veterans and active duty military a free lunch between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. The offer includes a free lunch entree and beverage, according to a news release. Veterans must bring proof of military service to be eligible for the free lunch.

In Huntington, the Wyngate Senior Living Community in Barboursville will host a veterans appreciation luncheon from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. to also explain how veteran benefits are available to help pay for senior living.

Also on Monday, all Shoney's restaurants in West Virginia will be dishing up free All-American cheeseburgers to veterans and active duty military.

Applebee's restaurants also will serve a free meal to veterans and active military service members from opening to closing on Monday. Proof of service is required to receive the free meal. This is the fifth year that Applebee's has held this Veterans Day promotion.

Then on Monday evening, Golden Corral in Cross Lanes will hold a free dinner for all active duty military and veterans from 4 to 9 p.m. The British Car Club will also host a car show at Golden Corral from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.,said Pam Creamer, the restaurant's service manager.

Many other chain restaurants will offer special promotions in honor of Veterans Day. You are encouraged to call your favorite eatery to find out if it is offering a deal Monday.
