Huntington , Cabell County , West Virginia

Police are still searching for answers after a man was found shot to death in a home in Huntington on Saturday.

For those living on 26th Street, the evening was far from the norm.

"It makes me feel scared,” resident Shirley Copley, who lives across the street from where the shooting took place, said. “I don't want anyone coming here and killing me! It's scary!"

Huntington police are trying to find a suspect after they were called to the house on reports of gun fire.

Inside, they found a man in his 30s, dead from a gunshot wound.

As of Sunday night, the victim has not been named and police are looking for a motive

One man, who didn’t want to be identified, said he called 911.

"I heard two shots, then four,” he said. “Then, I grabbed my kids and stuffed them in the house!"

Copley was mowing her grass Sunday and trying to take her mind off of what happened nearby.

Looking at a crime scene so close to home, she said she doesn't feel safe.

"My son is going to come stay with me tonight," she said.

As police try to piece together what happened here, the neighborhood is living in fear.

Police are only calling the shooting a homicide investigation.

More clues and a suspect are needed before they say anything else.

Huntington police are looking for the person accused of murdering a man who was found dead inside a home along the 1200 block of 26th Street.

Officers responded to a shooting call just before 8:00 p.m. Saturday. When they arrived at the home, they say they found a black male, possibly in his 30's, dead from a gunshot wound.

At this time police are working to identify the suspect and the victim and trying to determine a motive for the murder. They also say there was no report of gunshots in the area prior to police finding the body.

There will be a press conference at the Huntington Police Department at 12:30 p.m. Saturday regarding the shooting. Stay tuned to Eyewitness News for more information on this developing story.
