The reconfiguration of the elementary and middle schools in the Ceredo-Kenova communities is a big concern for a lot of people, especially students.
Some students who attend Kenova Elementary will move to Ceredo Elementary. Others will move into the C-K Middle School building. Those C-K Middle School students will be disbursed between Vinson and Buffalo Middle Schools.
Vinson Middle is looking at a one-third increase in student enrollment. Since the building is a former high school it has more space. Wednesday afternoon, the principal at C-K Middle went around to each classroom and explained the changes coming for students, since this is the last year they'll be at the school.
Brooke Smith attends C-K Middle and will go to Vinson next year.
"When I was in fourth grad, they told me I was moving into trailers (at Kenova Elementary) and then once I came to middle school," she said. "Now I'm told I'm going to Vinson or Buffalo, it should be right."
Graeson Malasevich also goes to C-K Middle and will more than like attend Vinson in the fall.
"I don't know, I'm not liking it that much, but I'm a Wonder for as long as I can be," Malasevich said
There will be a community meeting at the old C-K High School Gymnasium 6 p.m. Monday night, to help clear up any confusion parents or teachers might have with the new reconfiguration plan.
