Charleston police said a man has admitted to accidentally shooting a woman Saturday night.
Officers said the woman was shot in the 1300 block of Quarrier Street at about 6 p.m..
Police said John Tucker, who is accused of shooting the woman, met them at the scene shortly after the incident. He allegedly told them he was showing the gun to friends when it accidentally went off.
The woman was hit in the shoulder, but is expected to be okay. Her name has not been released.
Charleston police are looking for a man they say shot a woman in downtown Charleston Saturday night.
Police said the shooting occurred at 6 p.m. in the 1300 block of Quarrier Street. The woman was taken to the hospital and the shooter took off.
Police said her injuries don't appear to be life-threatening.
Police are searching for a car they said was involved in the shooting, a gray 2002 four-door Pontiac Grand Prix with a large green Monster Energy Drink sticker in the rear window.
The suspect is considered armed and dangerous.
Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to call Charleston police.
