Blaine , Lawrence County , Kentucky
A small Lawrence County, Kentucky, town is in danger of dissolving because of a lack of local government and other troubles.
The town of Blaine lost its volunteer fire department in a blaze that destroyed two firetrucks in September. Lawrence County Judge-Executive John Osbourne said there have been no city commissioners for the town since January because no one wants the job. No one sought the office after the last term in 2012. The town is also facing two lawsuits.
Osborne said that on Tuesday, county officials were checking the legalities to dissolve the town of less than 250 people.
The Associated Press contributed to this report.
