We have an update on a home invasion in Portsmouth, Ohio that ended with the homeowner shooting the suspect.

Police say Richards was breaking into a house on 23rd Street when he was caught in the act and shot.
Richards was taken off life support Monday afternoon.
Karen Brown said her brother, Paul Penix, was just protecting himself when he caught 31-year-old Keith Richards breaking in to his deceased sister's house on 23rd Street in Portsmouth for the second time in two days. "He ordered him to stop, and he didn't stop, and he got shot," she said.
Their sister passed away from breast cancer last month, and Brown said they've been coming to the home each day to get things organized. Sunday morning, they found the home ransacked. "Every room in the house was trashed," she said.
She said they decided to take turns staying at the home overnight. "When we decided to stay here, we decided to have protection, because if we're in this house, and someone breaks in, we need protection," she said.
Penix was covering the first shift when Richards allegedly broke in again. Police say there have been several burglaries in the area recently. Portsmouth police Chief Robert Ware said, "It appears the person involved in this one may very well be the this one may very well be the person involved in that rash of burglaries, including the night before at the residence where the shooting occurred."
Ware said they're treating the shooting as justifiable due to the Castle Law, but will present the case to grand jury. "I don't want citizens to become too empowered by the law, but at the same time know the law is there to protect you if there's no other resort," said Ware.
Police say Richards is expected to be taken off life support.
Police said the man who was a suspected in a burglary and was shot could be linked to other burglaries in Portsmouth.
Portsmouth police said while Keith Richards was being hospitalized following the shooting, they were able to recover other property at his home that is possibly linked to several burglaries in the area. Police said Richards' family has decided to remove him from life support at Cabell Huntington Hospital.
Police said Richards was shot on Sunday as a relative of the homeowner tended to the house. Police continue to investigate.
