A person has been arrested in connection with the murder of an elderly man in Raleigh County.
Deputies arrested 29-year-old Mickey Daniel Jr., of Edwight, Sunday morning.
Daniel is charged in the murder of 77-year-old Johnny Condia. Condia was found shot and laying on Saxton Bolt Road Friday evening.
Deputies say before he died, Condia told them the man who shot him also stole his car.
Daniel is charged with first degree murder and conspiracy to commit a felony. He is currently in the Southern Regional Jail.
A Raleigh County family is holding out hope in a gruesome murder of a loved one.
Police are searching for a killer after an elderly man was shot and left for dead along a road.
The murdered man's family is speaking out, pleading for information that could lead to an arrest.
Family members of Jonny Condie are speaking out after they said the 79-year-old man was shot in his car, kicked out and left on the side of the road to die.
Raleigh County Sheriff’s deputies said the shooting occurred Friday night on Saxon Bolt Road in Arnett.
They found Condie lying along the road and, even though he had been shot, he was able to tell deputies his car had been stolen.
Condie was taken to the hospital where he died.

“I never thought it would happen here," he said. "For a while, we were able to leave our doors unlocked."
Since Friday night, things are a bit different.
"I sleep with a weapon next to me," he said.
The victim's car was recovered and it is now being combed for evidence.
As a community is living in fear, Condie’s family is pleading for anyone with information to come forward.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Raleigh County Sheriff’s department.
Raleigh County deputies are looking for the person they say shot and killed a man and then stole his car.
Investigators say the victim was found laying in the roadway on Saxton Bolt Road in Arnett Friday evening. Deputies say the victim, whose name has not been released, had been shot.
The victim allegedly told police that his car had been stolen after he was shot. The man was then taken to Raleigh General Hospital where he later died.
Deputies say they found the victim's car and it is being processed for evidence.
