Guyandotte , Cabell County , West Virginia
An annual tradition kicked off Wednesday evening in the Guyandotte neighborhood of Huntington, but not without controversy.
The Cabell County commission pulled its annual $4,000 donation for the festival.
Vendors called the commission complaining checks were bouncing from last year and the previous organizers couldn't come up with receipts to show how money was spent.
This year there is a new staff in place, Angela Clay is one of the main organizers. Clay said even without the county's money Swinefest has been a hit so far.
"We are not wanting to point fingers," Clay said. "Cause I have no idea what happened there, it does cause tension that's what I want to erase."
