Some local law enforcement, firefighters and emergency personnel are going to bat to help grant the wishes of local children.
The 2013 Guns N’ Hoses “Batting for Wishes” softball tournament is scheduled Saturday and Sunday at West Virginia Power Park, according to a news release from Make-A-Wish. All proceeds will benefit Make-A-Wish.
Opening ceremonies will begin at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, with game play beginning at 9 a.m. Throughout the weekend, there will be activities and events, including a performance by Robbins N’ Jones at 9 p.m. Saturday. Both days also will feature concessions, door prizes, and inflatable bounce houses for children.
The championship game will be held on Sunday.

Make-A-Wish Greater Pennsylvania and West Virginia is a nonprofit organization that grants wishes to children, ages 2 ½ to 18, with life-threatening medical conditions.
