Deputies in Scioto County removed about 500 marijuana plants and arrested one man during a two-day drug sweep.
Marion Stiers, 30, of Lucasville was arrested on an outstanding warrant but could face additional charges.
Several law enforcement agencies eradicated the plants from different parts of the county on Monday and Tuesday, the Scioto County Sheriff's Department said. The Southern Ohio Drug Force, Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation, Ohio Division of Parks and the Southern Ohio Correctional Facility took part. Officers said several tips from the public, and an aerial search lead to the locations of the plants.
Deputies said on Monday during the search, they saw the suspect taking one of the plants and attempted to flee from officers. Deputies said the suspect tossed the plant into the Scioto County River and was arrested shortly after.
