Chesapeake , Lawrence County , Ohio
The Lawrence County Sheriff's Department released surveillance video of a suspect involved in an armed robbery of a bank.
Deputies said the City National Bank in Chesapeake was robbed about 10:45 a.m. Tuesday. The suspect was described as a slender white man about 5 feet 8 inches tall with piercing blue eyes. The suspect was armed with a gun and demanded cash, then fled into a wooded area behind the bank, deputies said. The search for the suspect lasted hours, but K-9 units lost the scent.
Neighbors said they are on edge that an armed suspect is on the loose.
"I can't believe it's happening in Chesapeake. Usually, it happens in Huntington, not over here. Now I need to lock all my doors. Usually, you don't have to worry about that. But somebody is on the run with a gun and you should lock your doors to feel safe. there's woods all around our house. I live in Brentwood, so I don't let my daughter go outside by herself anyways, but now even more so. I don't even want my dogs being outside." Amber Wentz of Chesapeake said.
The FBI is also working on the case to try and retrieve fingerprints of the suspect.
Anyone with information should call 911.
