It is National Child Passenger Safety Week and some familiar faces were competing in the car seat challenge.
Highway statistics show car crashes are a leading cause of death for children 1 to 13 years old.
State law requires kids to be in car seats and boosters until they are at least 4 feet 9 inches tall.
On Monday, the Governor's Highway Safety Car Seat Challenge was conducted in Kanawha City, where local people from TV and radio showed up for a 'timed' competition to install a car seat. They hope to draw attention to how important it is for your baby to ride safely.
The best thing you can do to ensure your child's safety seat is installed correctly is to read the installation directions. And you can head to any car seat safety checkpoint throughout the state this week for a free check.
