Portsmouth , Scioto County , Ohio
There are still no answers for a family in Portsmouth, Ohio about their loved one who disappeared six months ago.
Megan Lancaster, 25, went missing in early April. Her car was discovered abandoned in a Rally's parking lot, but she has never been found.
Her family said they growing increasingly frustrated with Portsmouth police.
Not a day goes by that the family doesn't wonder.
"It’s very hard,” said Kadie Lancaster of Portsmouth, Megan Lancaster’s sister-in-law. “It's the only thing we can think about. When we wake up, when we go to bed."
For Kadie Lancaster, there has been no news - not a break in the case....nothing.
Only a few weeks ago, the family learned that the FBI is stepping in. They've seized Megan Lancaster's car, which was found in the rally's parking lot.
The family is frustrated with the Portsmouth police department. They said detectives have dragged their feet.
Kadie Lancaster said they are not taking their loved one's case seriously because Megan Lancaster is an addict.
"It is very frustrating,” she said. “They will not tell us anything. We have even gone as far as to file a complaint on them for lack of investigating. They talk to us horribly."
The detective over the case was not available to Eyewitness News for comment.
As the family remains frustrated, and feel left in the dark, they cling to hope for Megan Lancaster’s safety, or simply, closure.
There is a $5,000 reward for information leading to Megan Lancaster’s discovery. Anyone with information is asked to call Portsmouth police.
