In memory of Sept. 11, the Mr. Handyman company donated a day of service Wednesday to Rea of Hope.
Rea of Hope is a nonprofit organization that provides safe and affordable housing for West Virginia women who are recovering from alcohol and/or drug addiction.
On Wednesday, company employees worked on a new railing and the front porch of one of the housing units on Beauregard Street on the East End of Charleston.
This is the fourth year in a row that the Rea of Hope has been the recipient of the donation.
Marie Beaver, the executive director of Rea of Hope, said it means a lot.
"Every year on 9/11, they recognize the lives that were lost and they donate something in their communities," Beaver said. "We've been the lucky recipient for the last four years."
Mr. Handyman specializes in small construction projects and was proud to donate its time and labor for this great cause.
Greg Paxton, president and co-owner of Mr. Handyman of Kanawha Valley, is pleased to do it.
"We're happy to help them help others," Paxton said.
