A Greenup County deputy had a long road of recovery after being struck by a car, but has since returned to his job.
Deputy Matt Smith was hit by a car in October 2012 while responding to an accident. His first day back was Tuesday.
Deputy Ryan Houston of the same department was struck by a vehicle in October 2012 in a separate incident and returned to work in July of this year.
