The Putnam County Sheriff's Department released a photo of a third suspect wanted in connection to an incident in which a family was reportedly held captive.
Roosevelt McDuffie, 27, of Hurricane is wanted by the sheriff's department. They said he is 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighs 215 pounds.
Two suspects have been arrested and charged in connection with the kidnapping. Kwame W. Bates and Bobbie S. Johns were taken into custody on Sunday.
Deputies arrived at a home on Sunday to find two suspects and two victims inside of a home in Poca. The victims told deputies they were held captive by the suspects, who demanded drugs or money, since 8 p.m. on Saturday. A child at the home alerted a neighbor with a note that said the family was being held hostage, deputies said.
Anyone with information is asked to call 911.
Two suspects have been arrested, and deputies continue to look for one suspect in connection to an incident in which a family was reportedly held captive in Putnam County.
Kwame W. Bates, 32, of Martinsburg was charged with four counts of kidnapping, assault and battery, two counts of child endangerment, possession of marijuana and possession of opana. Bobbie S. Johns, 28, of Charleston was charged with four counts of kidnapping and two counts of child endangerment. A third suspect, Roosevelt McDuffie, fled and has not been located, according to a news release from the Putnam County Sheriff's Office.
The sheriff's department got a call about a possible kidnapping Sunday at a home in the 300 block of Silver Street in Poca. Deputies said that a neighbor claimed a child walked to her home and gave her a note that said her family was being held captive and to call police.
Deputies arrived and found two victims and two suspects inside the home. The victims told deputies that they were held against their will since 8 p.m. Saturday, and the male victim was assaulted. The suspects told the victims they would bring people to their house and kill them if they didn't get drugs or money, deputies said.
Bates and Johns were being held at the Western Regional Jail. Bates bond is set at $550,000. Johns bond is set at $500,000.
