A man strips down to his underwear before his accomplice goes in for a convenience store burglary.
Kanawha County Sheriff's deputies got quite the surprise as they were rolling through surveillance video Monday morning trying to figure out who stole four bank bags from a Cross Lanes Go-Mart.
"Very unusual for someone to pull up in front of a Go-Mart and begin stripping," explains Sgt. Sean Snuffer.
Unusual and in his underwear, the circumstances surrounding the case are leaving even veteran law enforcement scratching their heads.
"We have no idea other than maybe he could have been intoxicated. We don't know why he stripped down," Snuffer said.
Around 5:00 a.m., a black Ford Ranger pulled up to the Go-Mart on Goff Mountain Road. A suspect in a gray shirt went in several times to see what the clerk was doing, while the other decides to ditch his pants, shirt, and shoes, stripping down to just his drawers. His every move, caught on camera.
"The passenger exited and went to the front of the store several times, he noted that the clerk was distracted and busy with several customers. He then exited the rear of the building and stole the four bank bags," Snuffer said.
A motive is anyone's guess, but by the looks of things, Brittany Carr think she may have an idea.
"Drugs? I mean there's some crazy drugs out there but that's the only thing I can think of on that one. That's insane!" she says.
A strange set of circumstances that deputies hope you can help them string together to nab the naked man and his accomplice.

Kanawha County deputies are asking for help to identify two people they said stole bank bags from the Go-Mart in Cross Lanes.
It happened about 5 a.m. at the Go-Mart located at 123 Goff Mountain Road in Cross Lanes. Two men in a black-colored Ford Ranger pulled onto the side parking area of the Go-Mart, Kanawha County Detective Sgt. S. D. Snuffer said.
The truck appeared to be filled with wooden pallets and various items. Snuffer said the passenger in the vehicle walked to the front of the store and looked inside, then walked to the back of the building where he entered the store and went inside the office. The man stole four bags from the business, Snuffer said.
Meanwhile, the second man left the vehicle and stood near the side of the businesses where he took off all of his clothing down to his underwear and socks. Surveillance video captured that man pacing around the area attempting to enter the exterior bathroom doors of Go-Mart.
There was a clerk on duty who was assisting other customers and apparently did not realize that someone had entered the rear of the business, Snuffer said.
If you have any information on who these suspects may be, call the Kanawha County Sheriff's Office at 304-357-0169.
