Kentucky troopers said a paramedic in Carter County is facing charges in connection with an investigation involving missing drugs.
State Police have not released the name of the paramedic until formal charges are issued.
Troopers began investigating after an auditor with the Emergency Management discovered several containers of Fentanyl and Morphine were missing from Carter County EMS in June. Investigators said some doses of Fentanyl were removed from the vial and replaced with an unknown substance.
Troopers said the paramedic was suspended while the investigation was ongoing, but was fired and emergency services license revoked.
On Monday, troopers got a report of several doses of morphine that were stolen, but do not believe it is related to the current investigation.
