Community members on Charleston's East End came together Wednesday for the East End Main Street's annual meeting.
The East End continues to grow, with more businesses opening up in the area, special events on the East End and several new public art displays, the organization said.
Wednesday''s meeting marked the community's chance to hear about the progress and the plan for the community.
"It's not just East Enders, Charlestonians even outside of Charleston come to see this," Ric Cavender of East End Main Street said. "They see what's going on in this valley, they see what's going on in this district and they love what they see. So it's great to be able to recap the past year and look forward to what's ahead."
East End Main Street's next big event is Hallow-East, the four-day Halloween celebration. The event runs Oct. 23-26 and includes the popular Zombie Walk and Costume Crawl and new this year, a Zombie 5k run-walk.
