Campbells Creek , Kanawha County , West Virginia
Fire officials are trying to figure out what caused an early morning fire that destroyed a home in Campbells Creek.
It happened at a home on Cline Hollow Road about 1 a.m. Tuesday.
Fire crews said when they arrived at the scene, flames were shooting through the roof.
No one was living in the house at the time of the fire, and fire crews said the people who had lived there moved out three days ago.
The house was destroyed.
Fire crews said responding to fires at homes like this one can sometimes be challenging.
"Back in the hollows and stuff, it can be very difficult, sometime, especially in inclement weather to get to location of house fires," Capt. Bradley Scott of the Malden Fire Department said. "Just where they are built up on the side of the hill and up in tiny hollows where it's just one way in and one way out."
Fire crews haven't indicated whether they believe it's suspicious.
