Harts , Lincoln County , West Virginia
Troopers arrested a Lincoln County woman they said broke into her ex-boyfriend's home, attacked him and then set some of his items on fire.
It happened about 6 a.m. Saturday at a home on Mud Lick Road near Harts, according to a criminal complaint from Lincoln County Magistrate Court.
Marshall Stanley, 43, of Harts was charged with domestic battery, trespassing, third-degree arson and destruction of property.
Troopers said the victim, Timothy Allen Wiley, told them that Stanley, his ex-girlfriend, had broken into his home while he was sleeping and began striking him with a stick. Wiley was able to get out of the house and run to a neighbor's, where he called 911.
Wiley told troopers that he returned to his home to find that his blankets and his electric guitar had been set on fire in the front yard. Wiley also said he asked Stanley to leave multiple times, but she refused.
Trooper M.C. McMillian II said that troopers discovered fresh blood on the window seal and burned remains of the blankets and guitar in the yard.
Stanley had posted bond and was out of jail by Monday.
