West Virginia University is reiterating the importance of its code of conduct following weekend vandalism and fires in Morgantown.
The Morgantown Fire Department says it responded to several fires over the weekend, which was the first of the new semester for students at WVU.
Officials responded to a fire early Sunday in which two were charged. A large dumpster was filled with five mattresses and box springs, four couches, garbage, and piles of cardboard boxes.
Fire Marshall Ken Tennant said other weekend incidents included a dumpster fire, a couch fire and two garbage bin fires all near areas where students usually reside.
In addition to any criminal penalties, fines and punishments, the university says that any student involved will face school disciplinary procedures up to and including expulsion.
