Crowds and alcohol are common sights on Capitol St. during Charleston's nightlife hours.
"It's a recipe for danger and destruction," said George Smith of Charleston, "I think we live in a violent society."
Police are searching for the person who stabbed a man at a popular Charleston nightclub.
Officers say a 26-year-old Sebastian Williams walked into the emergency room at CAMC General with a stab wound to the back around 3 a.m. Sunday.
Police say Williams told officers somebody stabbed him while he was trying to leave the Sky Lounge on Capitol Street. Williams said a fight broke out and he was knocked to the ground. When he stood back up, he realized he had been stabbed.
But this isn't the first time Charleston police have dealt with the Sky Lounge.
"Last summer we had several large fights. We've had shootings, shots fired," said Lt. Steve Cooper from Charleston Police, "A lot of mischief that comes from this particular bar."
So far no arrests have been made. Anybody with information should call police.
One person is in the hospital and Charleston police officers are investigating after an early morning stabbing on Capitol Street.
Dispatchers say the man walked into the emergency room at CAMC General around 3:00 a.m. Sunday morning. He told police he had been stabbed during a fight.
At this time, the man's name and the extent of his injuries have not been released.
