Loved ones of those killed in the sniper shootings ten years ago came together Wednesday night to keep alive the memory of those lives lost.
The families of Jeanie Patton, Okey Meadows Jr. and Gary Carrier held a candlelight vigil at the Campbells Creek Speedway. It is something they've done for the past ten years on this night.
On Aug. 14, 2003, Patton was shot and killed while she pumped gas.
The sniper then killed Meadows about 10 miles up the road at a Go-mart.
And four days earlier on Aug. 10, police believe the same shooter killed Gary Carrier at the Go-mart on Charleston's West Side.
In year's past, the vigil was a push for justice, but, now that the case is closed, they said it is important to never forget.
Shawn Lester was charged in Patton's murder, but he was not charged in the other two. The same gun was used in all three murders.

Every year, the families of Jeanie Patton, Okey Meadows Jr. and Gary Carrier hold a candlelight vigil at the Campbells Creek Speedway to take a minute to reflect on the memories of those lives lost.
For this year’s 10-year anniversary, a vigil will be held from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m at the Speedway, the site where the gunman killed Jeannie Patton while she pumped gas.
Shawn Lester was charged in Patton's murder, but no one has been charged in the other two shootings.
