A huge sinkhole in Milton is forcing a family to move from a trailer park in Milton. Neighbors said the sinkhole at the Tommy Harbor Trailer appears to be growing each time it rains.
Roger Woods, who lives two doors down from the sinkhole, said he is ready to leave the trailer park.
"I'm ready to go," Woods said. "I am not staying here. These sinkholes are popping up all over the country. It's a real bad situation right there."
The sinkhole is estimated to be about 15 feet deep, 20 feet wide and about 30 feet long, and it's inching closer and closer to a mobile home.
Amy McComas and her husband had to move because of the growing hole in the ground.
"We're losing our home over this and that's rough when it was something that wasn't our fault to begin with," McComas said. "We feel like we're not getting any help. It's like we're losing everything."
Trailer park owner Brenda Bassett said progress on fixing the sinkhole hit a snag because of power lines under the ground. The power company has now turned off the electricity in that area. Engineers will continue their work later this week.
