McDowell County , West Virginia
Officers seized 1,000 marijuana plants in McDowell County, as the result of a special operation by the county sheriff's department.
During the past week, State Police at the Welch detachment said more than 3,000 pot plants were confiscated.
The drugs were said to have a street value of more than $8 million.
One arrest has been made near Northfork, but the suspect has yet to be identified.
Anyone with information can contact the state police in Welch.
