Franklin Furnace , Scioto County , Ohio
A man is facing several charges after detectives said he was responsible for at least four burglaries in Scioto County.
James W. Woodel, 22, of Greenup, Ky., was charged Friday with four counts of second-degree burglary.
In late July, the Scioto County Sheriff's Department got calls from four residents in the Franklin Furnace area that their homes had been burglarized. Detectives said that in one instance, a 9-year old was home alone at the time and spoke with the suspect as items were being taken.
Detectives worked with Kentucky authorities and were able to locate some of the stolen items at pawn shops in Ashland. The investigation eventually led police to the suspect on Thursday when he was arrested. Woodel was being held at the Scioto County Jail and bond was set at $300,000. More charges could be pending.
The Greenup County Sheriff's Department, Russell Police, and the Green Township Police assisted in the investigation.
