Season ticket sales for West Virginia football games are down with less than a month to go before the start of the season.
Sports marketing director Matt Wells says WVU has sold 33,100 season tickets. More than 37,400 were sold last season, the Mountaineers' first in the Big 12.
Wells told The Dominion Post that sales of single-game tickets are strong for home games against Oklahoma State, Texas Tech and Georgia State. Tickets for the Nov. 9 game against Texas are available only through a three-game package that also includes the Aug. 31 season opener against William & Mary and the late November game against Iowa State.
WVU started fall practice Thursday.
