Teachers are getting ready to go back to school.
On Wednesday, they were getting a high-tech lesson in South Charleston. They are learning how to use iPads. More and more teachers are using them in the classroom. The goal is to get kids interested in learning.
The event was hosted by the West Virginia Center for Professional Development.
“It’s definitely going to make kids want to be there more and to do different things,” Kevin Hardy, a teacher at Riverside High School, said. “It’s tactical and gives them something to work with, with their hands It’s something they already are used to using, so the knowledge is there. They are going to teach the teachers some things, too, because there are things they already know that we don't know.”
School starts in Kanawha County on Aug. 9.
