It’s not every day that everyone in a city of more than 40,000 gets up and leaves.
Buses were rolling along on roadways Wednesday as the 2013 Boy Scout Jamboree in Fayette County came to a close. More than 30,000 Boy Scouts boarded buses beginning at 6 a.m. as the 10-day Jamboree packed with activities ended. They were to be followed later in the day by 6,000 volunteers and hundreds and hundreds of staff members at the Summit Bechtel Family National Scout Reserve.
In Raleigh County, traffic was heavy on Route 19 and at the Bradley interchange on Route 16 as the caravan of buses made its way to various points.
The departure of the Scouts was going smoothly but slower than expected.
