Mount Hope, Fayette County , West Virginia
Boy Scouts are celebrating West Virginia Day at the National Scout Jamboree.
The Scouts on Wednesday recognized several individuals, families and groups who played key roles in development of the Summit Bechtel Family National Scout Reserve.
Life-size bronze statues were unveiled of the late Morgantown industrialist J.W. Ruby and his wife, philanthropist Hazel Ruby. The statues are at a welcome center that provides visitor parking.
A ribbon cutting was held for Jack Furst Drive. It's the main road into the Summit and is named after the Boy Scouts of America national board member.
Other ribbon cuttings were held for the Summit's main lake, a skateboarding and BMX racing area for Scouts, and a warehouse distribution center.
Some 30,000 Scouts and their leaders are attending the 10-day Jamboree.
