The Patrick Street Bridge in Charleston has reopened following an investigation on whether it had sustained damage.
Emergency officials had checked the bridge Tuesday morning after initial reports that a tractor-trailer had possibly struck a beam. The bridge was reopened about 11:30 a.m.
The Patrick Street Bridge was being shut down Tuesday morning by the Charleston Police Department after reports that a tractor-trailer has possibly struck a beam on the bridge.
A Metro 911 emergency dispatcher said the state Division of Highways had asked police to shut the bridge down. The dispatcher said the Charleston Fire Department was at the scene investigating to see where damage might have occurred.
