Roane County , West Virginia
The Roane County area was once again underwater Friday, not even a month after facing major flash flooding.
Creek waters rose quickly, wiping out gravel roads and flooding many yards and homes.
For one man, almost everything was washed downstream.
"You pick up the pieces and start over,” flood victim Roger Moore said.
Moore spent most of his Saturday surveying the damage from the prior night's flooding.
Waters rose so fast, his truck got swept more than a mile away
"The truck can't be fixed,” he said. “Hopefully the tractors - they were under water, but I don't think they were underwater far enough to where it destroyed the engines. The one boat has dents in it. It'll come out, but the other stuff, it's just gone"
Moore said, in less than an hour, between four and six inches of rain fell Friday evening in Roane County.
Left Fork Green Creek climbed fast, flooding roads and blocking driveways.
"What are you going to do?” Moore said. “You grin and bear it. There's nothing else you can do."
As Moore continued to clean up along the creek, he could find a silver lining.
"Thank God no life or limb was lost,” he said. “No one up and down the creek is hurt or injured.”
Moore said he has contacted his insurance company and, because he ironically lives in a no flood zone, his home and most of his belongings will not be covered.
However, on the bright side, his truck should be covered and replaced.
