An old cell phone does not have to sit unused on a closet or a shelf. It can help a soldier make a call.
Through AT&T’s Cell Phones for Soldiers program, people can bring their used phone to an AT&T store, according to a news release from the company.
The value of the donated phone can be donated to the Cell Phones for Soldiers Program, a nonprofit that gives deployed and returning troops cost-free ways to communicate while serving in the military, or use the credit for a purchase.
A Cell Phones for Soldiers drive is being conducted from Wednesday through Friday.
The company said AT&T is consistently named as one of the top 100 military friendly employers and recently announced plans to hire 5,000 veterans and their families.
