For the fourth year in a row, the South Hills community is coming together to take part in a little family fun.
Bridgefest is all about enjoying good music, food and the atmosphere within the hilltop community. It's also where kids and adults alike can let loose and take part in various activities. The event runs from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Tuesday. It is free to the public.
The Fort Hillbillies Band will play live music, TOMS shoes can be purchased and custom painted, and the West Virginia National Guard will set up a rock climbing wall.
Bridge Road Bistro, Husson's Pizza, Lola's Nougat, Sarah's Bakery, Wheelhouse and South Hills Market & Cafe will have food available for people to taste. A food ticket is needed. Sarah's Bakery will host a pie eating contest , where participants can indulge in as many cherry cream pies they can eat.
The Bridge Road Neighborhood Association plans to use money raised from food ticket sales to beautify the South Hills community.
A special summer evening on Bridge Road in Charleston is featuring some attractions for family fun.
Bridgefest is scheduled 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, according to a news release from the Charleston Convention & Visitors Bureau.
Musical entertainment will be provided by the Fort Hillbillies Band, and gourmet food will be offered during a Taste of Bridge Road by South Hills eateries. Other attractions include a TOMS Style Your Sole shoe painting event, Sarah's Bakery pie eating contest, the West Virginia National Guard climbing wall and multiple children's activities.
Admission is free, and shuttles will run from the Sacred Heart and St. Matthew's Church parking lots during the course of the evening.
