A bill requiring West Virginia deputies to be provided with bulletproof vests is one step closer to becoming a law.
The bill unanimously passed the House Finance Committee Thursday without any question from lawmakers, and now goes to the full House of Delegates on Monday for its first reading.
The bill was sparked by our In-Vest initiative here at Eyewitness News that helped raise nearly $20,000 to purchase vests for counties in need.
