A day after a lockdown was put on a Kanawha County jail, Eyewitness News has learned more about what led up to a decision to do so.
State Police said two altercations between inmates at the South Central Regional Jail have taken place in the past week. The first altercation happened on Wednesday; the other on Sunday, State Police said.
The jail was put on a lockdown for less than 24 hours on Sunday.
South Central Regional Jail was on a lockdown after an incident at the jail.
A jail spokeswoman said Thursday that the jail was on lockdown less than 24 hours after an inmate altercation.
