The fire at Allegheny Wood Products in Webster County appeared to have started in a hydraulic system inside a building.
No damage estimate was available, but firefighters said there appeared to be heavy damage in the interior of the structure.
Firefighters battling a sawmill fire in Webster County were able to extinguish the blaze.
The fire was reported about 7:50 a.m. at Allegheny Wood Products on Leslie Road in Cowen.

Three fire departments were fighting a blaze Tuesday morning at a sawmill in Webster County.
The fire was reported about 7:50 a.m. at Allegheny Wood Products on Leslie Road in Cowen, a Webster County 911 dispatcher said. No injuries were reported. Firefighters were fighting the blaze in the interior and exterior of the structure.
Webster Springs, Cowen and the Craigsville volunteer fire departments responded to the fire, the dispatcher said. Volunteer firefighters from Erbacon and Diana were helping to cover other calls in the area while crews battled the sawmill blaze.
