Heavy rains proved to be a major headache for many in our region, even forcing some schools to let out early due to the threat of flooding.
Some roads in Roane County looked more like river Monday afternoon.
Flooding in the town of Spencer isn't a new sight for locals like Larry Browning, but he says it's still a major inconvenience.
"Makes it hard to get out to the store and stuff, you gotta go all the way around," said Browning.
The threat of flooding forced Roane County schools to send their kids home two hours early on Monday, but the threat didn't stop there.
It was the same scene in Mason County where no one who lived near a creek or stream was in the clear.
Ervin Mays of Arlee was forced to ride a four-wheeler to get his kids to and from the bus.
"There's no culverts or nothing. It just backs up right here and floods everything," he said.
"If they would come out here and widen theese creeks and put culverts in across the road it would help 100%," he says.
