Boy Scouts of America leaders, parents and scouts in West Virginia are meeting next week to discuss the impact of ending the BSA's ban on gay leaders and scouts.
The Charleston Gazette reported that the discussion scheduled Tuesday will include donors. The Buckskin Council oversees Boy Scouts in 19 counties in West Virginia.
The council's area includes the new Summit Bechtel Reserve in Fayette County, which will host its first National Scout Jamboree in July.
The Boy Scouts are struggling with the decision whether to allow gay members to join openly. National scouting leaders have asked local chapters to discuss the change. A decision is expected in May.
The scouts proposed move away from its no-gays membership policy has outraged some longtime admirers and gratified many critics.
