A Charleston man was arrested on domestic violence charges.
Adam Lee Arnold, 36, was charged with domestic assault and domestic battery after an incident Thursday near Mink Shoals, according to a news release from the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office.
Dispatchers received a 911 call from a cell phone and could hear a woman screaming for help and a male voice making threats to harm the female. Dispatchers were able to locate the origin of the call, and Deputy B. K. Howery and Sgt. K. L. Washburn responded to an address on Dorfer Drive.
Washburn found the female caller nearby. She had fled the scene of the incident. The sergeant found visible injuries on her arm and elsewhere on her body. She said her live-in boyfriend had caused the injuries during an argument. She wanted to leave, but her boyfriend, Arnold, refused to let her, the release said. She told deputies Arnold blocked her vehicle with his vehicle and attempted to tie her hands with a white zip tie, causing the injury to her arm.
The release said Howery found Arnold who was still at the scene. A white zip tie was on the ground where the victim said the incident occurred. Arnold was arrested and taken to Kanawha County Magistrate Court and arraigned. He has since been released on bond.
