Three people were arrested in Boyd County after deputies said they made an undercover drug buy.
Laurel G. Vaughn, 36, Denise N. Carter, 28, both of Ashland, and Omar P. Henry, 35, of Covington, were arrested Thursday. Vaughn and Carter were charged with trafficking a controlled substance, and Henry was charged with possession of a controlled substance and tampering with evidence.
Deputies with the Boyd County Sheriff's Department made an undercover drug buy at a residence in the 900 block of Prospect Avenue in Ashland, according to a news release from the department. Deputies and Kentucky State Police searched the home and said they discovered 280 grams of cocaine with a street value of about $28,000. Henry was attempting to dispose of cocaine when they arrived, deputies said.
All three suspects were being held at the Boyd County Detention Center.
