A Huntington man is facing charges after troopers said he was sending sexually explicit texts and images to young teenage girls.
Charles M. Cooper, 25, was charged Friday with distribution and display to a minor of obscene matter, soliciting a minor via computer and use of obscene matter with the intent to seduce a minor.
West Virginia State Police became involved in the investigation when the Seaman Police Department in Adams County, Ohio, contacted them about a man allegedly sending explicit texts to a 14-year- old girl. Troopers said the father of the girl alerted police after finding sexually explicit material on her phone between March 1 and March 7. State Police began to investigate and said that they found three other 13-year-old girls were also sent explicit material from the suspect.
State Police said the suspect allegedly admitted to troopers that he did have contact with them and knew the girls' ages.
Cooper was being held in the Western Regional Jail.
