If you are looking for food, drink, fun and a chance to win some great prizes, the East End St. Patrick’s Day Pub Crawl 2013 has quite the lineup in store for you.

The Pub Crawl is scheduled from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday, and the fun begins beside the Bluegrass Kitchen and the Empty Glass in Charleston.

Admission to the event is $18. It is a business promotion for the five pubs at the corner of Washington Street East and Elizabeth streets – the Bluegrass Kitchen, Empty Glass, the Red Carpet Lounge, Little India Lounge and the Tricky Fish. It is a fundraiser for East End Main Street.

People participating in the event will get food and drink specials from the establishments, and there will be live music. Featured bands will be Mountain Thyme; Appalachian Celtic Consort; 600 Lbs. of Sin (after the Pub Crawl at 11 p.m.); Gypsy Stars; Jenny Allinder and Jim Mullins Celtic Duo; Out in Left Field; and Wandering Celtic Minstrel.

Prizes also will up for grabs. An Apple Ipad Mini will be given to the lucky “crawler” who can find all five strategically placed shamrocks throughout the evening. There also is a special Pub Crawl T-shirt.

Last year, the event attracted more than 440 people, and organizers this year expect about 600.

C&H Taxi is providing free cab rides from the East End to downtown starting at 10 p.m. for any “crawler” wearing their East End Pub Crawl T-shirt. The cab company also will run its citywide Intoxi-Taxi service to any “crawler” needing a ride home within a 15-mile radius at no charge.

Registration is available by calling 304-767-9800. You also can register at the event. Online registration is closed, but you can see more information about the event by visiting charlestoneastend.com.
