Homeland Security, National Weather Service and Dunbar officials learned how to use social media to warn people about disaster situations.
State Police hosted Tuesday’s event at the State Police Academy in Institute.
The two instructors from Hawaii travel across the country and teach emergency responders how to use social media before a disaster happens. They instructed the class on how to use Facebook or Twitter if a tornado was approaching or a massive storm was coming their way.
The instructors said people use social media now more than ever, and it could save their lives.
