If the Kanawha County budget is approved, the county's elected officials could be getting raises.
Kanawha County Commission President Kent Carper wants to earmark $51,000 for discretionary raises.
Under the proposal, the money would be spread out between the commissioners, prosecuting attorney, sheriff, court clerk, county assessor and circuit clerk.
The money has been written into this year's budget. Commissioners will vote on the budget will be voted on by the commission later this month.
