Traffic Stop Leads To Arrests Of Three In Fayette County On Drug Charges

Three Kanawha County residents were arrested on drug charges in Fayette County after a deputy conducting a traffic stop said he found a large quantity of pain medication in a vehicle.
Jason D. Payne, 31, Amanda K. Payne, 32, both of Marmet, and Brittany L. Ramsey, 25, of Cedar Grove were arrested Monday after a traffic stop on U.S. 60 in the Boomer area near the post office, according to a news release from the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department.
The release said when the deputy stopped a 2014 Cadillac Escalade 30 milligrams of Roxycodone was discovered, and one of the suspects had a large sum of money.
As the investigation continued, deputies were led to a nearby residence where the illegal sale of narcotics allegedly was taking place, the release said. A search warrant was served and deputies found a substantial sum of cash.
The suspects were arrested on the following charges – Jason D. Payne, a felony count of possession with the intent to deliver a controlled substance and a felony count of conspiracy to commit a felony; Amanda Payne, a felony count of possession with the intent to deliver a controlled substance and a felony count of conspiracy to commit a felony; and Ramsey, one count of possession of a controlled substance and one felony count of conspiracy to commit a felony.
All three suspects were transported to the Southern Regional Jail to await arraignment.
These two incidents remain under investigation by the sheriff’s department.
